Newport has introduced the new series of FMS Precision Linear Stages, which have been designed for use in surface profiling, tribology, and contact (stylus) and non-contact metrology (white light interferometry).



Suitable for surface metrology applications, surface profiling and microstructure characterisation, the stages can also be used for scribing, micro-machining and delay lines.

Key specifications:
High straightness and flatness
Thermal stability
Bi-directional and uni-directional repeatability
Anti-creep crossed roller bearings enable smooth motion with minimal noise
Available in three travel options: 100, 200 and 300mm
Can be ordered with a DC or stepper motor
Fully compatible with Newport’s line of ESP integrated controller/driver products
Small footprint
All-steel construction ensures accurate and stable platform
Straightness at speeds of up to 100mm/sec
Minimises or eliminates the effects of temperature variations in the production environment
