RBC Bearings Inc. (Nasdaq: ROLL), Oxford, CT, reported sales for the fourth quarter ended April 2, 2011, were $88.9 million, an increase of 11.4 percent over the same period a year ago. Profit for the bearings manufacturer increased 2 percent to $9.9 million.
For fiscal year 2011, sales were $335.6 million, up 22.2 percent over sales in fiscal year 2010. Profit improved 43 percent to $34.9 million.
"Both sales and operation efficiencies showed significant gains over last year and are the result of continued improvement in demand for products from our core markets, new product introductions and the maturing of many operating efficiency initiatives," CEO Michael J. Hartnett said. "We expect further strengthening of our core markets thru our fiscal year and are pleased to be planning an expansion of production rates in many of our plants."
