Emerson Bearing, Boston, has formed a new division designed to specifically cater to the bearing needs of metal recyclers and wire forming customers.
Emerson Bearing’s customer care representatives in the new Metal Processing division have been trained to accommodate the needs of clients in these specific industries, according to a company press release.
“Emerson’s Metal Processing division was created to meet increased demand and significant growth in the metal recycling and wire forming markets over the last couple of years,” says Steve Katz, president of Emerson Bearing.
The division is being led by Richard Furtado, an Emerson Bearing marketing specialist. The Metal Processing team will assist companies in determining which bearing technologies would be most suitable by taking into consideration the specifications, recommendations, maintenance strategies, fatigue life and wear resistance of the bearing in relation to the application.
Metal recycling requires bearings that have high load values, can endure high shock loads and have extended maintenance cycles, according to Emerson. The company offers a line of split cylindrical and spherical roller bearings. Other products offered include mounted units, ball bearings, roller bearings, roller chains, hydraulic cylinders and pumps, belts, oil seals, spherical bushings and rod ends.
