McGuire Development Invests in $18 Million Development for SKF USA, Inc.

(November 23, 2010)

Falconer, NY McGuire Development Company will complete a new 66,000 s/f development for SKF USA, Inc. consisting of a heat treatment facility in conjunction with their location in Falconer. The $18 million investment will protect 691 jobs in Jamestown and surrounding areas. McGuire Development has assembled with the executives at SKF for the past six months reviewing designs for the new facility. R&P Oak Hill Development has been signed as the construction management team.

SKF will move out of their leased space in Jamestown and into the newly constructed facility in fall 2011. "The ability to preserve numerous jobs by keeping the facility in New York has been our main goal from day one," said James Dentinger, president of McGuire Development.

SKF Aeroengine North America will process parts in the new facility for custom-engineered ball and roller bearings that are utilized in helicopters and jet engines in the aerospace industry. SKF is a global supplier of products and services and currently is represented in more than 130 countries. It has more than 100 manufacturing sites.

The project will allow SKF to combine its operations on one campus with the new building connecting to their current Falconer facility and allow for synergy with their South Carolina facility. The Chautauqua Industrial Development Agency, Empire State Development and the New York Power Authority have all provided incentives for the project.
