In decoupled pulleys, NORGLIDE® bearings offer the benefits of reduced friction, maintenance-free operation and noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) improvements. Compared to other metal-polymer based bearing designs that act like a metal, NORGLIDE® bearings have a much thicker polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) layer so the entire component acts like a plastic material and this is what allows the reduction in NVH. When used in decoupled pulleys, RENCOL® tolerance rings simplify assembly and provide torque overload protection.

For belt tensioners, using a NORGLIDE® bearing in an environment of high oscillating movement guarantees good tensioning of the belt drive, and in dual mass flywheels, NORGLIDE® bearings guarantee a constant low coefficient of friction as well as compensating for minor misalignment.

RENCOL® tolerance rings are precision spring fasteners that are press fitted between mating components. They not only fix the components together but also provide a range of other useful functions, including compensating for thermal expansion, altering the resonance frequencies of an assembly and providing predictable and repeatable torque overload protection.

NORGLIDE® bearings are equally versatile. Essentially plain bearings, they have fluoropolymer friction surfaces and, by adjusting the bearing geometry and the composition of the fluoropolymer material, their characteristics can readily be optimised to suit specific applications.
