Today, SKF successfully held its China and North Eastern Asia Supplier Conference. Close to one hundred suppliers' representatives, together with SKF's global and regional executives and Demand Chain mangers, gathered at the conference and discussed how to collaborate to attain mutual benefit.
Building on the theme "Collaboration for Mutual Benefit: the Winning Path", the participants deliberated on closer cooperation and collaboration based on benchmark, performance and experience. The aim was to ensure continued and mutual growth for SKF and its supplier. SKF is working mostly with local suppliers to build the China and North Eastern Asian regions into world-class raw materials and congruent supply bases, the 'cornerstone' for development of SKF.
Bo-Inge Stensson, SvP Group Demand Chain of SKF Group enforces that "it is our ambition to further forge our relationship with existing suppliers to actively assist the transformation to a world-class supplier base, enabling local, regional and global supply. It is key, that we work close with our suppliers to share best practises and develop technological capabilities, management know-how and production techniques."
Bo-Inge Stensson also says, "Our ambition is to build sustainable supplier relationships based on SKF Care, our values and SKF Code of Conduct."
During the conference, SKF professionals in demand chain management presented advanced demand chain management concepts and tools. Included in the presentation SKF informed about concepts in 'sales & operations planning' and tools to enhance total copst, productivity etc. By lowering waste and buffers throughout the entire demand chain and strengthening competitiveness in each facet of the collaboration process, it is possible to ultimately achieve 'win-win' for customers, SKF and suppliers. The mutual growth for SKF and suppliers would create the opportunity to scale up as global suppliers from their previously limited role as a regional supplier.
Erik Nelander, SKF China President states "That SKF's China operation is able to grow rapidly is no doubt, due to the joint effort of all our partners including suppliers. Being a global company focused on sustainable development in all aspects of our operation, our SKF Care strategy includes a dedication to our partners, which is reflected in the Supplier Conference."
As a global enterprise, SKF has incorporated its operating experience and knowledge garnered over its century-long history in its products, services and solutions to help customers raise their profitability. Furthermore, it has steadfastly adhered to its practice of sharing its product and management experience with customers and suppliers. The partnerships are keeping with its vision of 'Equipping the World with SKF Knowledge'.
