SKF, internationally acknowledged as an engineering knowledge company and specialist in rotating equipment, will exhibit a range of superior quality SKF products on stand B27 in Hall 6, at Electra Mining 2010.
The company's mission is to equip the world with knowledge engineering' and the SKF team of experts will be on hand to discuss the products on display, and to share technical knowledge about SKF's core competencies -bearings and units, seals, power transmission, mechatronics, lubrication and services. SKF is more than a bearing component supplier and industry across the board accept and rely on SKF as the total solutions provider.
Bearings: Visitors have the opportunity to view and discuss SKF's pre-lubricated, sealed spherical roller bearings, designed and manufactured to suit diverse applications. SKF sealed spherical roller bearings are protected against both particle and moisture contamination and perform consistently and reliably in demanding conditions.
Seals: The SKF Economos® Seal Jet® machine leads the world in the supply of standard and custom-made machined seals and offers flexible solutions to diverse industry applications. Amongst the major advantages of the SKF Seal Jet® machine is the ability to deliver machined seals for prototyping projects, thus only one seal will presented for approval before embarking on costly mould changes.
In addition, SKF will be able to do hydraulic repair to a specific range of cylinders as well as to produce large seals up to 600mm OD.
The SKF Seal Jet® products and services are providing flexible, superior quality, reliable sealing solutions for diverse industry and visitors to the stand will be given the opportunity to discuss this class leading technology with SKF experts.
Power Transmission: The SKF Belt Frequency Meter, a recent addition to the SKF Power Transmission range, will also be on view. The Belt Frequency Meter, suited to V-Belts, banded belts and timing belts, is one of the most accurate and reliable tools for measuring belt tension and is a two component system consisting of a hand-held meter attached to an optical sensor via an electronic cable. The sensor, which includes a LED that produces an orange light beam to help aim the invisible infrared ray, uses an infrared beam to detect the vibration of a belt strand and sends a signal to the meter.
Mechatronics: SKF's range of modular linear profile rail guides, LLT, designed for diverse and demanding industrial applications, can also be seen at this year's Electra Mining. The new profile rail guides are designed to combine high operating speeds with heavy load capacities, while offering excellent rigidity, repeatability and accuracy from a system that can be easily configured to meet both OEMs and end users requirements. The modular design concept of the LLT profile rail guides provide design and production engineers with a comprehensive range of system build options e.g. rail length, carriage size and profile, as well as levels of accuracy, stiffness and preloading.
Lubrication: Also to be seen on the SKF stand will be the SKF Electrical Barrel Pumping Unit, developed and designed to fill the gap between the compact SKF Multilube pumping unit and the plant-wide SKF Maxilube pneumatic pumping station. Equipped with an internal pressure relief valve and pressure control, the pump can create up to 250 bar pressure and 80 g/min lubricant output.
The SKF Electrical Barrel Pumping Unit presents mining and other heavy industry with the optimal solution for diverse applications where larger pumping capacity is demanded but where, due to remote areas, compressed air is not always available. Available as a 24V DC standalone unit, the SKF electrical pump unit is capable of serving a total loss single line lubrication system. The single line output could be operated and controlled as a normal single line, a progressive system or any parallel combination thereof. When operating the pump in conjunction with a 220V AC SKF control center from the Muurame family and electrical valve assemblies, the pump can also serve dual line systems as well as up to 14 channels in a multichannel configuration.. Pumping elements with heating capability as well as internal temperature measurement also offers a wide temperature range over which up to NLGI 2 greases could be pumped.
Services: By combining our hands-on experience in every major industrial application area with the latest tools, technology and expertise, SKF can provide service solutions that meet your specific asset efficiency optimization needs.
SKF Maintenance Products recently introduced a range of TKSA shaft alignment tools which will be available for interested visitors to view and discuss. The user friendly TKSA range consists of two models; the TKSA 20 and the TKSA 40 with built-in tolerance checking and a memory facility that allows results to be stored and shared. Both tools are designed to meet the requirements of technicians who perform shaft alignment tasks. The tools display real-time alignment values and the results alignment corrections are displayed immediately. With the development of the TKSA range, SKF further expands the company's already comprehensive range of tools and instruments.
