Papers are invited for the 2011 ASTM International Symposium on Roller Element Bearings, to be held April 13-15, 2011, at the Marriott Anaheim in Anaheim, Calif. Sponsored by ASTM International Committee F34 on Rolling Element Bearings, the meetings will be held in conjunction with the April 2011 standards development meetings of the committee.
The goal of this symposium is to provide an international forum for the exchange of information on recent achievements in bearing technology. The symposium will begin with a roundtable session discussing the subject of testing methods and specifications (ASTM Committee F34), followed by a series of papers presented by leading experts in their field. Held in conjunction with the symposium will be a Bearing Technology Exhibit, which will consist of a series of booths showing different products, representing the latest advances in bearings, manufacturing capabilities, materials, products that influence bearings, etc.
Attendees who would benefit from the event include various aspects of the bearings community, including, but not limited to, bearing manufacturers, bearing users, manufacturers of bearing parts, lubricant, customers and consultants.
Interested presenters/authors must submit a 250-300 word abstract online at www.astm.org/F34symp511.htm by Aug. 31, 2010. You will be notified by Oct. 31 of your paper's acceptability for presentation. Symposium presenters are required to submit their papers to the Journal of ASTM International (JAI), unless the symposium co-chairs specifically grant permission to give a presentation without a manuscript being submitted. JAI is an online, peer-reviewed journal for the international scientific and engineering community (www.astm.org/JAI).
