SKF Awarded New Seals Agreement with ZF Sachs Italy

SKF has been awarded an agreement with ZF Sachs Italy to supply 140 000 oil seals and wiper seals for motorcycle forks. With this agreement SKF now strengthens its position in the area of fork sealing solutions for high performance two wheelers. Many of ZF Sachs' customers are the top motorcycle brands.

We worked closely with ZF Sachs Italy to develop these solutions for their new motorcycle front suspension applications and the project has been a true success. Our engineering knowledge in sealing material and fast response time gives us the competitive edge to support our customers' needs and demands, says Dan Reed, President, SKF Sealing Solutions.

With these high performing two wheeler suspension seals oil retention and dirt protection has been improved by eliminating stick and slip effects. The new material developed has a special formula that creates a long lasting self lubrication capability of the seal during operation.

The seals will be manufactured in Villanova, Italy.
