The Vice President of the People's Republic of China, H.E. Mr Xi Jinping, visited SKF in Gothenburg in the morning of 28 March 2010.
The Vice President was accompanied by, among others, Mr Li Yizhong, Minister of Industry and Information Technology, Mr Wang Guangya, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, and Mr Gao Hucheng, Vice Minister of Commerce.
With the company of County Governor Mr Lars Bäckström, Mr. Xi Jinping met Tom Johnstone, President and CEO of SKF, who gave a presentation of SKF's development, especially in China, and the close cooperation with local governments and business partners. Mr Xi Jinping then visited a production channel in one of the SKF factories. He was pleased to hear that the same technology and equipment were applied in the SKF Dalian factory in China.
The visit was part of the official visit by Mr Xi Jinping and his delegation to celebrate the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Sweden and China and to strengthen the bilateral cooperation. Mr Xi Jinping said that he visited SKF thirty-one years ago and noted the company's continuous development. He also highly appreciated the contribution that SKF has made to the bilateral cooperation as well as to the economic development of China.
