RBC Bearings Inc.will receive about $8.3 million in federal clean energy manufacturing tax credits to support a wind turbine bearing manufacturing facility in Houston.
Based in Oxford, RBC manufactures precision plain, roller and ball bearings for industrial, defense and aerospace uses. It opened the 80,000-square-foot Houston facility in May, one of 23 facilities it operates in North America and Europe. RBC has about 1,720 employees.
RBC received a $4,157,400 credit for investing in equipment for the Houston facility, and $4,155,000 toward further expansion. The IRS awarded the credits in cooperation with the Department of Energy as part of the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act.
