The Timken Company (NYSE: TKR) today announced the appointment of Kari Groh to the position of vice president – communications and public relations. Groh currently is general manager of organizational effectiveness on the company’s IT leadership team.
Groh began her career at Timken in 1975 while pursuing a degree in journalism. In 1977, she joined the company’s public relations team and subsequently managed several areas of communications. Groh was named general manager of inside sales in the company’s bearing business in 1998 and then advanced through a series of operating roles, ultimately assuming responsibility for global customer service, warehouse management and logistics for the distribution business. She was instrumental in implementing CoLinx to improve warehousing and logistics support and steered the integration of customer service following the company’s largest acquisition. Groh also played a vital role in the company’s “Project O.N.E.” enterprise system and process implementation and, in 2008, was named general manager of business process and performance improvement in industrial distribution.
Glenn Eisenberg, executive vice president – finance and administration, said, “We welcome Kari back to the Communications team for this leadership assignment. Her depth of experience and successful track record at Timken are well suited to advance our strategies to effectively connect the company with its constituents around the world.”
In addition to a BA degree from The University of Akron, Groh holds an MBA degree from Ashland University and is a graduate of the Executive Development for Global Excellence program at the University of Virginia's Darden School of Business.
