SKF, the leading global supplier of products, solutions and services in the area comprising rolling bearings, seals, mechatronics, services and lubrication systems has launched the SKF Railway Axlebox Bearing Grease LGRT 2.
This grease is specially developed for lubrication of axlebox bearings of passenger coaches, freight wagons, locomotives, multiple units and mass transit vehicles with speeds up to 200 km/h.
SKF offers a wide range of bearing greases each specially formulated for the respective field of application. SKF LGRT 2 is formulated with a highly refined mineral base oil and a lithium soap thickener. Specially selected additives give it a proper resistance against oxidation, wear and corrosion. The grease does not contain solid ingredients and has a good water resistance.
SKF Railway grease LGRT 2 has passed the EN 12081 test for speed class "a". This standard relating to lubricating greases for railway axleboxes defines quality parameters for greases. It covers approval procedures, quality control methods and quality monitoring of railway greases.
