Sealed-clean SRB Prevents Lubricant Leaks (Pic)

NSK has introduced a range of sealed-clean spherical roller bearings (SRB) for use in industries such as quarrying and construction and paper and steel making.

The sealed-clean SRB combines high levels of ingress protection and reliability with long-term maintenance-free operation.

It helps extend equipment life in demanding environments, where contamination or lubricant loss might otherwise cause premature bearing failure.

The SRB is equipped with spring-loaded nitrile rubber seals, which have a peripheral bead to prevent them from separating from the bearing.

The sealed-clean SRB is charged with Emalube 8030, a long-life grease that performs well in heat and pressure.

The integrated seals prevent this lubricant from leaking out, reducing maintenance and lubricant costs.

The SRB is made from vacuum-degassed steel.

It is designed with symmetrical rollers that provide uniform contact with the bearing raceways, preventing unusual edge loads between the rollers and raceway surfaces under heavy-load conditions.

The bearings deliver smooth axial movement on their free-end side as a result of a special chamfer and design improvements on the periphery of the raceways.

The new SRB has the same capacities and ISO dimensions as a standard SRB.

It is available in a range of sizes from 50mm ID (90mm OD) to 130mm ID (280mm OD), providing basic load ratings up to 1350000N.

The sealed SRB is suitable for use in applications such as steel and paper making, in materials handling, quarry and construction industries and hoists and cranes.
