The Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology has granted a certificate of compliance with the requirements of ISO 17025 to ZAP' Main Laboratory. As an acknowledgement of the laboratory's expertise, the certificate will enable ZAP to enhance development of the international market of aviation engine building.
The introduction of ISO 17025 requires elaboration and implementation of a quality management system, assessment of laboratory's technical competence (personnel skills, availability of required equipment and chemical reagents), evaluation of metrological competence (selection of testing routines, implementation of measures for the provision of in-laboratory convergence). Preparations for certification included an essential modernization of the laboratory equipment. During this year alone, ZAP purchased six million rubles' worth of instruments for the laboratory. The chemical laboratory installed the equipment which provides most stringent control of the quality of metal and alloys used for manufacturing aviation bearings.
Tatiana Ivankina, Head of the Department for Accreditation of Testing Laboratories and Expert Examination of FGU Samara Center for Standardization, Metrology and Certification, appraised ZAP's certificate as a well-deserved result. "It is difficult to overestimate the role of a testing laboratory in the manufacturing system of any enterprise," she said, "the Main Laboratory meets ISO 17025 requirements."
Vladimir Makarchuk, ZAP's CEO, stated that the certificate awarded to ZAP is thanks to the entire team of the enterprise. "It is another step towards the development of ZAP's quality management system and improvement of customer support."
