The experience of Stepnogorsk Bearing Plant in the area of vocational technical training for its workers has been integrated in the Vocational Technical Training Development Program of the Akmolinsk Region of Kazakhstan.

At the meeting with the heads of regional enterprises, the leader of the Akmolinsk Region, ALBERT RAU, underlined that the provision of drastic improvement in the quality of technical and service personnel training is only possible if the state and business join their efforts. He mentioned cooperation between Stepnogorsk Bearing Plant and educational institutions of the region as a good example of efficient state and business partnership in the area of vocational technical training. The Plant’s training system makes it possible to optimize the structure of training for young specialists in accordance with the Plant’s current and future demands. Today, its training system involves in-plant training (workshop-based technical training and practice) and four directions of state and private enterprise cooperation in the area of vocational training of personnel: cooperation between the Plant and schools (training of automatic line maintenance technicians), between the Plant and vocational schools (training of workers for bearing production), between the Plant and colleges as well as higher educational institutions (on-the-job training of manufacturing technologists, technician-mechanics and engineers), between the Plant and consulting centers (preparation of the reserve of young leaders).

The meeting resulted in signing of a memorandum of understanding and strategic cooperation between the Akmolinsk Region’s Department of Education and Stepnogorsk Bearing Plant.
