The Timken Company (NYSE: TKR) announced that its StatusCheck™ wireless condition monitoring system received the Innovation of the Year Award from Brammer plc, a European distributor.
Brammer, headquartered in the United Kingdom, presented the award during the company's annual awards dinner. Brammer cited StatusCheck’s wireless features and the flexibility it provides end users as reasons for presenting the innovation award to Timken.
StatusCheck is a wireless device that predicts potential malfunction in plant equipment. Users can mount StatusCheck units to equipment and monitor variables such as vibration and temperature as part of an overall predictive maintenance program. Timken launched an enhanced version of StatusCheck in Europe in 2007. Certified as intrinsically safe for use in hazardous areas, StatusCheck units now carry their own batteries and accompanying circuitry that is incapable of creating a spark that could ignite flammable gas.
Timken continues to develop predictive maintenance programs and monitoring devices to help customers avoid costly, unexpected equipment downtime.
Brammer provides a comprehensive range of products and services that support the maintenance, repair and on-going operations of production machinery. Brammer serves customers throughout Europe.
