Network Integration Technologies LLP, the Leeds based networking and telecommunications consultancy, has implemented an Open Hand solution to provide mobile email to key staff at Knaresborough based BNL (UK) Ltd, the international designers and manufacturers of innovative plastic bearings.
The system allows the company’s sales engineers to access email and other applications via smart phones – a critical application for a specialist business with demanding customers all over the world. This means that staff travelling away from BNL’s key locations will be able to deal with ongoing communications and manage critical sales and product information in the field.
Sunil Sharma, IT Manager at BNL (UK) Ltd said; “Data and voice networking is critical to BNL because the specialist nature of our business means that key staff travel extensively, but still have to be able to handle complex technical data in real time, even when they are away from the office. The experience and capabilities of Network Integration Technologies in this type of application is therefore critical to our success.”
Network Integration Technologies LLP is also currently engaged in a pilot project to increase the security and resilience of key elements of BNL’s network which serves sales offices in Massachusetts and Tokyo, and an additional manufacturing plant currently being commissioned in Thailand.
BNL (UK) Ltd
BNL (UK) Ltd specialises in the design and manufacture of innovative thermoplastic bearing assemblies and technical moulding solutions. Plastic bearings offer many advantages over the traditional steel bearing, including anti-static properties, low friction and corrosion and chemical resistance. They are lightweight with low inertia and have no requirement for lubrication. BNL’s dedicated in-house design team is able to promote added value through the integration of other features - such as axles, gears, fixing clips, mounting flanges and pulleys - to form fully integrated bearing assemblies that maximise functionality and deliver whole system cost reductions.
