BNL (UK) Limited announces the appointment of a new Managing Director, as Dr. Neil Partlett takes up the role of Divisional Director for Plastics Capital PLC, and becomes Chairman of BNL. John Nichols moves from his position as Chief Operating Officer, taking over as Managing Director from the 1st of July 2008.
BNL was bought by Plastics Capital PLC at the end of 2005 and the group became an AIM quoted company at the end of 2007. Plastics Capital is developing a divisional organisation structure, in which Dr Partlett will take on a Directorial role, with BNL forming the core of his divisional responsibilities.
“My new role as Chairman will allow me to devote more time to the strategic development of BNL, including acquisitions and furthering our geographic expansion”, said Dr. Partlett.
He will now be responsible for expanding the Bearing Division through strategic acquisition, whilst John Nichols’ objective will be to continue the exceptional growth BNL has experienced over the last few years. The role of COO will be amalgamated into his responsibilities as Managing Director.
Reflecting on his new position, John Nichols stated, “This is an exciting phase in the development of BNL and I am proud to be taking the helm at such an important time. I have inherited a great team and look forward to working with them to ensure the continued success of the business”.
BNL has recently announced the establishment of a sister factory in Thailand to strengthen its future capacity for meeting continued demand.
BNL (UK) Ltd
BNL (UK) Ltd specialises in the design and manufacture of innovative thermoplastic bearing assemblies and technical moulding solutions. Plastic bearings offer many advantages over the traditional steel bearing, including anti-static properties, low friction and corrosion and chemical resistance. They are lightweight with low inertia and have no requirement for lubrication. BNL’s dedicated in-house design team is able to promote added value through the integration of other features - such as axles, gears, fixing clips, mounting flanges and pulleys - to form fully integrated bearing assemblies that maximise functionality and deliver whole system cost reductions.
