GGB Bearing Technology Acquires Injection Molding Firm
GGB Bearing Technology, formerly Glacier Garlock Bearings, an EnPro Industries company, has acquired Böhringer Kunststofftechnik GmbH, Sinsheim-Hilsbach, Germany (http://www.boehringer-gmbh.com). The company specializes in precision injection molding of high-performance plastics, including tool- and mold-making and rapid prototyping.
“We have been sourcing our solid-polymer offerings from Böhringer for the past two years,” said GGB President Bernd Fischer. “Now that the company is part of the GGB family, we will be able to even further leverage its expertise and capabilities in this important product sector.”
Operating as a wholly owned subsidiary of GGB Heilbronn GmbH , the company will be renamed GGB Kunststoff-Technologie GmbH. Rainer and Wolfgang Böhringer, who founded the company in 1991, will be retained in key management positions.
The company employs 60 and serves the automotive, appliance, communication, electronic and measurement devices markets. It maintains a full complement of equipment, including 25- to 300-ton injection molding machines, machine tools, CNC-machining centers and CAD workstations.
