U.S. Commerce Opens Reviews on Bearings

The U.S. Department of Commerce, following requests, has received petitions for it to conduct administrative reviews of a wide range of antidumping and countervailing duty orders and findings with May anniversary dates.

Five of the six key bearing antidumping and countervailing duty orders received requests for administrative reviews -- listed below by Commerce Case Number :

A-427-801 FRANCE : Ball Bearings and Spherical Plain Bearings
Period covered: 5/1/2006 through 4/30/2007

A-428-801 GERMANY : Ball Bearings
Period covered: 5/1/2006 through 4/30/2007

A-475-801 ITALY : Ball Bearings
Period covered: 5/1/2006 through 4/30/2007

A-588-804 JAPAN : Ball Bearings
Period covered: 5/1/2006 through 4/30/2007

A-412-801 UNITED KINGDOM : Ball Bearings
Period covered: 5/1/2006 through 4/30/2007

The only one which did not receive a request was :
A-559-801 SINGAPORE : Ball Bearings
Period covered: 5/1/2006 through 4/30/2007

In addition, the Department also received a request to revoke (in part) an antidumping duty order on ball bearings from an unnamed exporter in the UK. That determination will also be carried in the final ruling.

Commerce now required to conduct administrative reviews and issue statements of its findings no later than May 31, 2008.
