Reliability Maintenance Institute Delivers First Class Training
Realising the crucial importance of staff training and development, SKF, the knowledge engineering company, has continued to develop its Reliability Maintenance Institute (RMI) - a comprehensive offering of training courses designed to help plants eliminate machinery problems and achieve maximum reliability and productivity.
Manufacturers are increasingly required to deliver higher output and quality at lower cost. This, coupled with ever more rigid and stringent safety and environmental legislative requirements, places a huge amount of pressure on plant managers. To support maintenance professionals in meeting these needs, comprehensive training programmes are available from the SKF's RMI.
So as to address the full spectrum of training needs, the training offered by the RMI can be broken down into 3 levels. Introductory level training is delivered via the Internet while the more in-depth intermediate and advanced levels are delivered on and off site by local SKF training experts and SKF specialists.
The training itself covers five discreet areas. ‘Maintenance Strategy' places emphasis on developing a strategy with sound financial and technical justifications that is properly aligned with business goals. ‘Work Identification' covers topics such as preventative maintenance, predictive technologies and information integration and decision support systems. ‘Work Control' relates to maintenance planning and scheduling and spare parts optimisation and management. ‘Work Execution' covers precision maintenance, best practices in lubrication, installation, precision alignment and post maintenance testing. Finally, a wide-ranging ‘Testing and Certification' course programme includes newly added Vibration Analysis training which is externally accredited by the British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing (BINDT).
Only SKF offers a comprehensive training programme that covers every aspect of machine reliability. The RMI has been developed to provide all training needs from one source with a schedule that is convenient to the end user. With dedicated training centres, on-site provision and expert instructors, training programmes from the RMI are engineered to give an easy, all-in-one training solution.
