January 12, 2007 - SKF “CAT” electro-mechanical linear actuators enable cost-effective and easy customization due to their modular design allowing for use of standard internal and external components (such as motors, screws, and attachments). This offers the capability to satisfy a wide variety of foodservice, medical, and industrial application requirements quickly and reliably without a need for specially engineered parts or assemblies.
The CAT range of actuators can be engineered to perform a variety of repetitive-motion functions, including opening/closing, clamping/gripping, raising/lowering, or pushing/pulling. They are highly efficient, compact (ideal for space-limited applications), robust, corrosion-resistant, and virtually maintenance-free for reliable operation in countless devices.
These actuators offer high dynamic load capacities (up to 4000N, depending on model) and low energy consumption, while running silently and efficiently over their full load range. Stroke lengths range from 50mm to 700mm and speeds up to 174 mm/sec (no load) to 150 mm/sec (full load) can be achieved.
Each model can accommodate different options (and each option presents more choices) to tailor actuator to application. Users can specify standard or special stroke lengths, AC or DC motors, friction clutch gears, cables, and front and rear attachments, among many other selections. Available accessories range from limit switches to encoders.
CAT actuators are manufactured in the USA for timely delivery and the standard range can be available within five days.
