The Morgoil Bearing Division of Morgan Construction Company has received a significant contract from Posco, an operating company located in Gwangyang, Korea, for the design and manufacture of multiple sets of Morgoil bearings. The bearings will be installed in the revamped hot strip mill No 3 (KH3) in Gwangyang works, Korea. According to Gabriel Royo, Vice President and General Manager of Morgoil: 'This contract is significant because Posco chose our newest patented design bearing, with Morgoil KLX technology'.
'The bearings will be designed with our latest thin wall sleeve technology, resulting in a higher load capacity oil film bearing compared with the conventional design'.
Bearings featuring the KLX technology are now installed or are being installed in 29 different mills worldwide.
'The Morgoil KLX has been broadly accepted as the new oil film bearing for this century', Royo continued.
Engineering and technical support for this contract will be supplied by the company's headquarters facility in Worcester, Massachusetts, while the equipment and manufacturing components will be manufactured both in Worcester and through worldwide sources.
Delivery of the bearings is scheduled to begin in May 2007.
