The Gothia Cup 2006-2007–SKF Invests In The Next Generation

Through its partnership with the Gothia Cup, SKF is investing in the most valuable asset in the world – the next generation. The Gothia Cup is the world’s biggest youth football tournament, which takes place every year in Gothenburg, Sweden since 1975. Thousands of youngsters, from all corners of the world, travel to Gothenburg to take part in this event. Irrespective of religion, skin color, or cultural differences, they “talk” the international language called football. They meet, they compete, make friends, exchange dreams. They return home with a better understanding, more tolerance, and happy memories. Last year there was a total of 1,500 teams with 31,100 participants from 60 countries playing 4,200 matches and attracting 300,000 spectators during one memorable summer week in Gothenburg. This year the Gothia Cup will be from July 17 to 22, 2006.

A cornerstone in the Cup foundation is global solidarity – to make it possible for teams with limited financial resources to participate. These teams are substantially sponsored by the organization.

By becoming the Main Partner in Gothia Cup 2006-2007, and official partner from 2005-2006 and 2007-2008, SKF is investing in the most valuable asset in the world – the next generation. This is a contribution to a better world of tomorrow with more understanding, tolerance and respect for others.
