NSK Corporation, a leader in the motion and control industry, is very pleased to introduce their latest innovation in high-performance bearing technology - the HPS line of spherical roller bearings. A major step forward in load capacity, wear resistance, reliability and operating speeds, HPS satisfies growing demand across a wide range of industrial applications.
Innovations in a number of key areas of bearing technology, including enhanced stress analysis, have converged to produce, what is quite possibly, the most advanced line of bearings available today.
Improvements to the cage design allowed use of additional and/or larger rollers, leading to greater load capacity. Longer bearing life was realized through the use of NSK's ultra-clean Z steel. This, combined with a special surface treatment to the cage greatly improved cage fatigue strength while reducing wear and friction. In addition, improvements to raceway surfaces and cage design have translated to less heat generation.
These advances in design, materials and manufacturing processes also combine to make dramatic increases in limiting speeds possible. Clearly, HPS spherical roller bearings are ideally suited to an extensive range of applications where longer life and high-speed operability is a necessity.
