Emerson Industrial Automation's mechanical power transmission division has acquired Jaure, a coupling manufacturer based in northern Spain. The integration of Jaure with the mechanical power transmission division's Kop-Flex operation will strengthen the Jaure brand presence in Europe and add application expertise for both Kop-Flex and Jaure customers. The acquisition will let Jaure provide products and services globally.
Kop-Flex produces couplings, including non-lubricated and reduced maintenance designs, for high speed or turbomachinery applications.
Jaure provides marine, windmill, hoisting and steel coupling products and designs custom-built equipment.
Dale Skoch, Vice President and General Manager of Kop-Flex, said: 'Our new European partner contributes a knowledgeable engineering resource with expertise in solving tough steel, hoisting, mining, marine and wind power application problems'.
'Kop Flex already has a modern manufacturing and service unit in Slovakia and the Jaure facility in Spain considerably strengthens our ability to service both European and international markets'.
Carlos Epelde, General Manager of Jaure, said: 'Kop-Flex has a reputation for providing for some of the toughest applications in the processing industries and this includes applications in the steel, pulp and paper, oil and gas, LNG, power generation and other process industries'.
