SKFCompact‘PICO’Linear Stage Ideal For IVD Instrument(Pic)

New SKF® “PICO” miniature linear stages can be incorporated easily into in-vitro diagnostic (IVD) instruments as fully integrated “plug-and-play” units. Their design and construction eliminate any need to inventory and sub-assemble disparate system components, contributing to reduced manufacturing steps and enhanced instrumentation reliability.

These compact stages enabling controlled linear movement promote optimized repeatability, precise positioning, increased accuracy, and quiet operation for instrumentation in a wide range of clinical chemistry and laboratory applications.

PICO stages uniquely integrate drive and guidance mechanisms utilizing standard SKF components (precision ground ball screws and miniature profile rail guides). They are available in two sizes (60mm and 80mm) and five standard stroke lengths for each size. Travel speeds up to 500 mm/sec can be achieved.

Standard features include an extruded aluminum base allowing for use in similar applications requiring different stroke lengths; stainless steel cover for corrosion-resistance; limit switches with plug attachment; and axes designed for cross-table assembly.

Options include stepper motor package; servo motor package; attachment of linear measurement systems; and variable multi-axis assembly. PICO stages can further be customized to meet particular instrumentation specifications.
