Morgan Construction Company has received an order from Xing Cheng Specialty Steel Company, Ltd., in Jiangyin City , Jiangsu Province, the People’s Republic of China, for a modification to its #2 Bar Mill. This will be Morgan’s third new Bar Reducing / Sizing Mill (BRSM) to be installed in China.
Mark Shore, VP, Rolling Mill Sales & Proposals, who announced the contract, said, “The modification will include providing the mill with Morgan’s latest generation three-stand, Bar RSM with water boxes, uplooper, and roller tables. In addition, the order includes a Morgan control system for the Bar RSM and water box temperature control.
“The purpose of the modification,” he added, “will be to improve the product’s quality tolerance for this mill.”
When the modification is complete, the bar mill will initially roll 25 mm to 60 mm rounds, which will later be expanded down to 20 mm in size. The mill will also produce 6 mm to 25 mm thick by 50 mm to 140 mm wide flats.
The modification will be designed at Morgan’s Worcester, MA headquarters, with production of the equipment to be split between Morgan’s China and Worcester manufacturing facilities.
