ZWZ's Activities Against Counterfeit Bearings Cost Them a Lot Every Year

There are workshops in China who not only manufactured and sold counterfeit ZWZ bearings but also made counterfeit labels, acceptance certificates and packages of ZWZ bearings. So the counterfeiting of ZWZ bearing in China is widespread.

To fight these counterfeiting activities, ZWZ established their own anti-counterfeiting department(ACD) and the annual cost of ACD for their anti-counterfeiting are more than RMB100 thousand. The number of counterfeiting cases of increased by 10 to 15 percent annually. In 2001, there were 102 counterfeiting cases but in 2004 the figure hit 120 and the expense involved in the cases reached RMB10 million.

The latest case happened in Dalian city, Liaoning province. On Jan 4, a counterfeiting workshop located in No.1 warehouse of Zhoushuizi Ironware Electronic and Machinery Bazaar were raided by police. Package box, stamping machines and 269 sets of counterfeit bearings which covered 78 different types were confiscated.

The officer of ZWZ said that it's the bad habit of purchasing staffs that encouraged these counterfeiting case. During the purchasing, the staffs alway just bought those counterfeit products to benefit themself. So one of the key problems of anti-counterfeiting is to renew the mind of purchasing staffs.
