ZKL Bought a Bearing Rings Expanding Machine(pic)

In the program of spherical roller bearing innovation the set task called "Cold-expanding of spherical roller bearing rings" is being solved in the manufacturing plant ZKL Brno, a.s. Within the framework of this broad innovation program the company has purchased The Expanding Roll-Out Machine URWA 250 of German manufacturer PROFIROLL Technologies, Bad Düben.

This new machine will serve for production of cold-rolling of bearing rings. Savings in machining costs and reduction of chips volume are principal advantages of this process.

The URWA 250 Machine works with rolling pressure of 800 kN, dimensions of the machine are 2.9 m length and width, height 2.5 m, speed is 100 to 800 r.p.m. The outer diameter of expanded product can be 250 mm at the maximum and 120 mm at the minimum, the maximum width 80 mm. In the production program there are 49 parts. These are bearing outer rings both in execution M, J and EJ, and inner rings in execution EJ. With the gradual start-up of new 239, 240 and 241 series as well as of the PLC specials this assortment will extend further. The planned production is 150 000 rings annually.

The photo shows the machine and one of the first testing samples manufactured in ZKL Brno, a.s. by this progressive technology. It is the outer ring of bearing 22222ER33J.
