NMB Technologies Corporation, a subsidiary of Minebea Co., Ltd., Tokyo, Japan, announced that it has been nominated for Valeo’s prestigious supplier agreement, VIP (Valeo Integrated Partnership) in the ball bearing category.
Launched in 1999, this preferred supplier program is a one-time award, subject to continuing excellence, which represents an exclusive selection of Valeo’s best-in-class suppliers. All suppliers nominated for VIP status have demonstrated outstanding performance in terms of quality, global competitiveness, productivity, world-wide presence, service, innovation and technology.
The nomination was made in recognition of NMB’s range of precision miniature ball bearings. NMB joins an elite group of less than 100 Valeo suppliers who have earned the VIP status of “best-in-class”, and it represents the only miniature ball bearing supplier to receive preferred partner status.
Although all of Valeo’s suppliers are required to meet the company’s stringent quality standards, the VIP award goes further in committing both companies to an even closer co-operation which includes product development and cost reduction. The preferred partner status represented by the VIP agreement means that NMB’s miniature ball bearing product will have priority for new product design, development and manufacture.
Valeo uses miniature ball bearings in its advanced automotive systems developed for vehicle manufacturers worldwide. Typical applications are found in engine cooling and wiper systems, as well as motors and actuators, which are supplied to Valeo’s customers worldwide.
