Automotive Bearings International Relocates
From Los Angeles to Industry
Automotive Bearings International (USA) has moved from its long-time Los Angeles location to a new, larger facility in Industry, California.
ABI is an aftermarket importer and distributor of seals and bearings. In recent years, the company has become particularly well known as a key supplier of high-volume, high-quality imported bearing seals.
President Harold "Hal" Lasman talked to eBearing about the move.
At less than 5,000 total square feet, "it was getting pretty crowded," in the old location, said Mr. Lasman. The new facility, at almost 29,000 square feet, is so large, he said, "we had to get walkie-talkies."
In addition, the grassy Industry area is, "simply a nicer location in a nice neighborhood."
Mr. Lasman said that with the additional space, ABI will now be able to expand its bearing and seal coverage. The company also now has the space it needs to efficiently handle larger import shipments to meet increasing demand from its major customers.
