Embattled San Diego mayor's foes begin circulating recall petitions

Movement, seeking recall of Santiago Mayor Bob Filner, who resist the growing number of allegations of sexual harassment pressure to resign, transferred to the high heard last Sunday, as organizers began collecting signatures a petition asking him to step down.
Recall supporters will need to accumulate at least 102,000 valid signatures within 39 days from September 26, to qualify the recall vote of the vote, some experts have said that it will be difficult to meet the deadline.
However, local help promote Bipartisan Campaign Republican activist, said Michael Pallamary efforts have been brisk start, the first day of signature collection of thousands of volunteers spent a petition circulating.

Another organizer, John Cox said the recall action was signed more than 800 volunteers, online, 500 people registered as signature collectors. He said that it has deployed about 600 calls, from a personal commitment to help distribute petition campaign.
If they succeed, the most likely scenario will be a citywide vote in a special recall election sometime in mid-March, the spokesman said Rachel Laing.

But the mayor has refused to withdraw. Instead, he has publicly apologized, he has admitted that a pattern disrespectful treatment of women and intimidation of a brief leave of absence to enter a secret behavior modification therapy in the clinic.
His lawyer said he had left the clinic, but take some extra time before the closure of the last week to return to work.
Signature collectors fanout (Saturday) at 12:01 am through the city's Gaslamp Quarter, historic district filled with nightclubs, bars and restaurants. They will move later in Balboa Park's annual marathon race to the finish line.
Recalling about 200 supporters in the afternoon, also staged a half-mile (800 - m) near the town hall parade, led by lawyer Gloria Allred, who represents Jackson and a few other women accused of misconduct Filner.
Mayor has also been increasing scrutiny, his city issued credit card spending what opponents describe as suspicious, and allows the city lobbying contracts lapsed for several months.
City Attorney Goldsmith month plan, permitting City Charter provisions that allow for the removal of any one of the city's officials found an unauthorized expenditure of municipal funds to yet another lawsuit against the mayor requested the City Council later this month times.
