British insurer Prudential (Prudential) (PRU.L) said its operating profit jumped 22 percent in the first half, thanks to its exposure to the fast-growing Asian market.
Prudential said operating profit was 1.415 one billion pounds (about 220 million U.S. dollars) from six months to the end of June, an analyst with Barclays forecast 1.4 billion pounds.
Prudential in London, founded 165 years ago, to avoid the economic turmoil plagued its European competitors strongly focused on the fast-growing Asian, nearly half of the sales source.
The group said it will increase by 15.8% to 9.73 pence per share interim dividend.
