At least 36 people were killed, the coach set off a viaduct in southern Italy on Sunday plunged more than 15 meters (49 feet), fire service spokesman said.
The spokesman said 11 people pulled alive from the stricken coach, rushed to the hospital, some serious injuries.
Rescue operations are in progress, he said.
Coach was carrying about 48 people in the southern region of Campania Telese spa visit and returned to Naples, the Italian daily "La Repubblica" reported.
"The situation is dramatic," fire service spokesman said several other vehicles involved in the accident also.
