Wal-Mart names interim head for India business

Wal-Mart (WMT.N), which has spent years trying to crack the Indian market in the long-term limit, its national director said Wednesday it has left the company, and was named interim replacement.
The world's largest retailer, Wal-Mart, does not explain the reasons for change.
The company has been trying to set up in India, a global supermarket industry is the most active, but in November, the local joint venture to suspend its Chief Financial Officer and other investigations into alleged violations of U.S. anti-bribery laws.
Wal-Mart, has been running since 2009 wholesale stores in India since October, although this has not said it plans to open a new open eight in 2013. It has 20 such stores in India.
In a statement, Wal-Mart named Ramnik Narsey as interim head of its India operations, replacement Raj Jain, he said, has left the company. Jain joined Wal-Mart in 2006 (Wal-Mart), and was named the head of its India operations next year.
Narsey last month after joining as chairman and CEO of Wal-Mart, a unit of Woolworths (WOW.AX) of Australia's largest supermarket chain Woolworths India.
In September, India allow global supermarket operators to enter the country, and has up to 51% of the local operations, although still to be clear rules, and did not apply for a license in the global chain.
