Dozens of people on Sunday marched in the National Day military parade in New Orleans, a neighborhood mother Orleans (AP) - Gunmen opened fire, killing at least 17 people were injured, police said.
The FBI says the shooting incident seems to be "street violence" and not linked to terrorism.
Many of the victims were grazed and most of the wounds were not life-threatening, police spokesman Remy bin Laden said in an email. No deaths were reported.
Ronal Serpas Superintendent told reporters that a 10-year-old girl grazed in the shooting about 14:00, she was in good condition. He said that three or four people in the surgery, but he did not have their own terms.
Mary 贝丝罗米格, in New Orleans, the FBI, a spokesman said, federal investigators there is no indication that the shooting is an act of terrorism.
"This is the strict sense of the violence on the streets in New Orleans," she said.
Interspersed with the marchers, which is the regular staff of such events. Up to 400 people participated in the procession extending about three blocks, although only half that many people in the vicinity of the shooting, Serpas said.
Police saw the three suspects running from the scene near the seventh ward of the city. No arrest has been made as of the evening.
