Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution to grant the Palestinian UN observer status to respond. He said that this is a positive progress in the Palestinian independent nation on the road to another, more extensive support to the international community that the just cause of the Palestinian people to restore their legitimate national rights. China, together with the majority of Member States voted in favor of the resolution.
 
Hong Lei said China has always advocated an independent state is the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, is the foundation and prerequisite for the peaceful coexistence of the two countries in Palestine, Israel. China will continue to play a positive and constructive role to promote the comprehensive and just solution of the Palestinian problem.
