Hong Kong Legislative Council Economic Development Committee discussed the power company's interim review of the scheme of control agreement of 2013.

Some members of the Legislative Council that the electricity tariffs continue to rise, to urge the SAR Government to take back of tariff increase decision, there have been calls for the liberalization of the electricity market and introduce competition.

Environment Secretary Huang Jinxing that review will be launched next year, but admitted that because it is the medium-term review, requires the Government and the two power companies agreed to. Terms of the agreement the limited space that can be modified, until 2018, when the agreement is completed in order to provide more room for modification.
He also said that the two power companies have to submit price adjustments next year, after the Government reached a consensus with the two power companies will be introduced into this Council next month.
