PR Newswire, November 21, 2012, the U.S. Navy has awarded General Electric Boat a deal worth $ 61.7 million contract modification to continue to develop a common missile compartment for the United Kingdom "successor" class ballistic missilenuclear submarine and the U.S. Ohio " class nuclear submarines.
 
Under the contract, Electric Boat will procurement, manufacture and testing of prototype materials and equipment for the common missile compartment manufacturing. The original contract was granted in December 2008, a total value of more than 776 million U.S. dollars if all options were traveling.
 
This work completed by the Electric Boat Company engineering team, the team has more than 4,000 employees, with mature technical capabilities in all aspects of the submarine life cycle from concept design to construction to maintenance upgrade and eventually retired scrapped.
