A new report on the New York economy calls for the past decade's "lost decade" for the typical worker, median wages fell by nearly 7% of men and 1% of women.
Fiscal policy institute, said the recovery from the great recession, showed more underemployment, despite the downturn in the overall unemployment back.
The institute, a non-partisan think-tank, and the country's biggest trade union, said much of the growth enterprise from low wages, such as retail and restaurant, and in the medium salary work continues to fall, partly from the government to cut. The report is based on federal and state labor data.
"The workers of the country, these trends are similar," it said. "There have been some years of earnings, but the median real wages fell sharply, in 2012, about $16 an hour of their New York for the median of female workers and about an hour in the median number of $19 men New York worker_well 40000 yuan of the following is a full-time, year-round employees."
The report shows that since 2008, increase employment, low wages between industry, defined as those that pay less than $45000 a year. Home health care, for example, a gain of close to 42000 jobs, the average salary of nearly $28000 in 2012.
As a middle wages, lost more than 42000 jobs, fell by nearly 12%, pay about $62000 last year.
"On a national scale, profits and other business income increased by 50%, and the low since the recession, and the total compensation grew by 12%," says the report.
The report also points out the geographical differences, many works in New York city's recent work, now nearly 40000 of the country's 8.9 million yuan.
In July, 718000 people unemployed in New York. The state's unemployment rate is 7.5%, which is about to about 1% of the national average speed in New York city. "Discouraged workers" are no longer looking for a job and involuntary part-time jobs, the report of the employment rate of less than 13.7% of the country.
