HSBC Holdings (HSBA.L: Quote) is planning from July 8 to close its South Korean retail banking and wealth management business, the bank said on Friday.
Close its South Korean retail bank branches, HSBC will seek regulatory approval. This leaves its global banking and markets business, corporate customers.
The decision has already seen it closed or sold 52 companies in the world since May 2011, as part of HSBC's global review, the bank said.
