India's inflation fell to a three-year low in March, down, may allow the central bank to continue to cut interest rates to help revive the economy sputtering.
The preliminary data showed on Monday wholesale price inflation fell to 6% from 6.8% in February.
The stubbornly high inflation rate has been the main reason for the Reserve Bank of India cut interest rates to help jump start the third largest economy in Asia has been cautious.
The government has forecast 5%, as of the fiscal year in March, the slowest decade of economic growth.
The central bank has cut lending rates twice this year, to 7.5%, but has been hesitant too radical, worried about the worsening of inflation. The bank has committed to the wholesale inflation rate dropped to 4.5%.
