- a lone gunman opened fire on Friday at a community college campus is located in southwest Virginia shopping center, wounding two women tip mall evacuated before he was arrested, police said.
Shooting broke out shortly before 2 PM local time in Christian Roanoke xinhe community college to the edge of the blue ridge mountains, about 28 kilometers southwest of the town of a satellite campus.
The campus is located in one end of the mall in the new river valley.
One of the victims were flown and the second by ambulance to the hospital, Christian police headquarters said in a statement, not the status of the women or identity information is available immediately.
Criminal suspects, the police said, a person did not disclose the identity of the authorities, was detained and the researchers questioned.
The mall removed from customers and staff personnel searched complex, to ensure that no further victims or potential suspects, but police said that they thought the accused shooter acted alone.
District school also briefly placed in a security lock as a precaution. In the afternoon shopping center web site message said: "the new river valley shopping center has been closed, until further notice."
The incident marks the second shooting Friday's panic in the United States university.
Earlier in the day, Greensboro, north Carolina A&T state university lock for hours, in one building found near a gunman's report. But then unlocked not shoot.
